Green revolution

The large gains in agricultural production from the 1940s -1980s due to improved strains of crops, improved irrigation. and the development of fertilizers and pesticides is referred to as the Green revolution

It increases the production of food grains such as wheat and rice especially in developing countries like India by introduction of new, high-yielding varieties of seeds, use of fertilizer and irrigation( water) methods.
