IF YOU HAVE TOO MUCH FAT IN YOUR BODY? People make bad rapport about fat that it is not good for body. But it is a nutrient that we need in our body. It gives us energy and keep our body warm. It is also helpful when body needs energy during emergency.
There are four types of fats (saturated fats, trans fats, monounsaturated fats, polyunsaturated fats) and each have different properties. The fats which is called as bad fats are saturated and trans fats. These fats will be solid at room temperature such as cream, cheese, butter and fats called as monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats are liquid at room temperature such as vegetable oil.
If you eat too much saturated fats then it raises LDL (low-density lipoproteins) cholesterol in the blood that increases the risk of heart disease. HDL cholesterol is good as it takes cholesterol from different parts of body to the liver and then disposed of.
Unsaturated fats are considered better and healthy than saturated fats because saturated fats are more tightly packed therefore they clog arteries. This causes heart attack more easily than unsaturated fat which is loosely packed.
Unsaturated fats have kinks in the hydrocarbon tails thus they cannot pack closely together. This makes them liquid at room temperature. Unsaturated fats lower the LDL which is called as bad cholesterol. Cholesterol is called as waxy substance that block the blood vessels.
