Why do we get instant energy from glucose?
Replied by Admin
When we eat food, carbohydrates from food is converted into glucose. Glucose is a simple sugar that is important source of energy for cell.
When we breathe, oxygen goes into the lungs and then transported to all the cells of the body through the bloodstream.
Glucose combined with oxygen and produces carbon dioxide and water as by-products and energy. This energy is used for normal functions of cells. Energy released in molecules of ATP which is adenosine triphosphate.
Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a waste product which gets rid off it when we exhale or breathe out.
Therefore, glucose broken down in the presence of CO2 and H2O and releases energy. Glucose is the simple sugar that can be easily absorbed by the blood and thus gives instant energy to the body.
